Monuments in Arbuthnott Kirkyard bearing pre-1855 information (ca. 100 stones) are listed in Alison Mitchell (ed.), "Pre-1855 Monumental Inscriptions in Kincardineshire" (Edinburgh: Scottish Genealogy Soc., 1999), which can be bought from the Scottish Genealogy Society. (It's listed as "Kincardineshire MI - The Mearns" in their online shop.)

[M35; p804] 1779 Here lies JAMES SPARK sometime tennant in Broombank, who died 1760 aged 70 years. As also his spouse MARGARET DUTHIE who died 1778 aged 80 years.

[M26; p805] 1870 Erected by ALEXANDER BISSET, farmer in Upper Pitforthies, in memory of his wife, MARGARET McBAIN, who died 5th May 1867 aged 60 years. Also their children; MARGARET, who died in infancy 22nd Sept 1834. DAVID, who died 18th March 1876, aged 47 years. The above ALEXANDER BISSET, died at Hospital Shields, parish of Marykirk, 19th August 1878, aged 78 years. AGNES daughter of the above ALEXANDER BISSET, died at Lalathan Lodge, St Cyrus, 7th March 1916 aged 68 years. Also of JAMES JOLLY BISSET son of the above ALEXANDER BISSET who died at Lalathan Lodge, St Cyrus, 24th April 1918, aged 77 years. Also of MARY ANN BISSET daughter of the above ALEXANDER BISSET, who died at Lalathan Lodge, St Cyrus, 3rd March 1923, in the 85th year of her age.

[p806] Erected in loving memory of WILLIAM DEANS farmer, Milltown, Arbuthnott who died 1st April 1896, aged 73. His daughter LILLIAS, who died 23rd April 1907, aged 40. His wife JANET WILSON, who died 19th Jan. 1911, aged 86. ANNIE, who died 13th Nov. 1918, aged 56.

[M19; p807] Erected by WILLIAM MITCHELL, farmer, Deep, in memory of MARGARET, his only daughter, who died 24th July 1842; in the 13th year of her age. And MARGARET GARVIE his wife who died 6th March 1856; in the 70th year of her age. In memory also of the abovenamed, WILLIAM MITCHELL, who died at St Cyrus on 6th March, 1873 aged 75 years

[M13; p808] Erected by HELEN & ELIZABETH MORGAN, in memory of their brother Revd JAMES MORGAN, upwards of twenty years minister of the Scotch Church of Dordrect in Holland, thereafter residing in Stonehaven, who died 15th August 1869, in the 86th year of his age. ELIZABETH MORGAN died 11th August 1876, aged 86 years. HELEN MORGAN died 9th February 1878, aged 96 years.
