The ruined kirk of Logie-Montrose (or Logie Cuthill) is located at National Grid ref. NO706635, near Mains of Logie farmhouse. Only the chancel of the original kirk survives; it was renovated in 1857, for use as the burial place of the family of Carnegy of Craigo, but has since fallen into ruin. The interior has been cleared of rubble since 1978.
There is a date stone for 1857 on the west gable, where there are also the arms of
Carnegy of Craigo: [Or,] an eagle displayed [azure], [armed and membered gules], surmounted on the breast with a book [of the first]
Macpherson-Grant of Ballindalloch (1806): Quarterly, 1st & 4th, [Gules] a target between three antique crowns [or], 2nd & 3rd, Parted per fess [or and azure] a galley [of the first], mast, oars, and tacklings [proper], between a hand couped fess-ways holding a dagger in pale in the dexter chief point, and in the sinister a cross crosslet fitchée, within a bordure [gules]
Around the archway of the west door is the inscription I am the resurrection and [th]e life [He] that [belie]veth in me though [he] were dead yet shall he live.

June, 1793 aged 64, and was survived by his widow for many years, which she devoted to the exemplary performance of all the duties of an affectionate mother. She died 20th. Nov. 1815 aged 65, leaving in the minds of her children the greatest love and admiration of her many virtues, and an earnest wish to profit by her example. Their second daughter ELIZABETH wife of the Hon. Lord GILLIES, has erected this monument as a testimony of her affection and gratitude to her parents.
